What happened: Ayush Suraksha portal and regulatory push against misleading Ayush drug ads

The Ministry of AYUSH strengthened monitoring and action against misleading and objectionable advertisements for Ayush drugs. The Ministry launched the IT-enabled online portal “Ayush Suraksha” in 2025 to track reported Misleading Advertisements (MLAs)/Objectionable Advertisements (OAs) and Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs), and reported the complaint inflow and selected state actions.

Background and earlier position: Pharmacovigilance for Ayush drugs since 2018 and integration under AOGUSY

The Ministry implemented the Pharmacovigilance Programme for Ayush drugs since 2018 to monitor safety of Ayush medicines through surveillance, reporting, and assessment of suspected adverse drug reactions, and to monitor misleading advertisements to prevent false and exaggerated claims.
