What happened: 412th Standing Committee Report tabled for Himalayan forest fire mitigation
The Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Science & Technology, Environment, Forests and Climate Change, headed by Dr. Medha Vishram Kulkarni (Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha), presented and laid the 412th Report titled “Forest Fires in the Himalayan Region, its adverse effects and mitigation” in both Houses of Parliament on 7 August 2026. The Committee adopted the draft report in its meeting held on 5 August 2026.
