The Union Ministry of Minority Affairs implemented the Leadership Development of Minority Women (Nai Roshni) scheme under erstwhile schemes of the Ministry. Nai Roshni focused on empowering minority women and building their confidence by providing knowledge, tools, and techniques for interacting with government systems, banks, and other institutions across levels.

What changed now: welfare scheme subsumption under PM VIKAS

The Union Ministry of Minority Affairs reported that various welfare schemes have been subsumed under the integrated umbrella scheme PM VIKAS. PM VIKAS is designed to focus on socio-economic and educational empowerment of six notified minority communities, including interventions related to skill development, leadership and entrepreneurship development, education support, and infrastructure-related work.
