What happened: AWCCs introduced under Palna Scheme (from 1 April 2022)
The Ministry of Women and Child Development introduced Anganwadi cum Creches (AWCCs) under the Palna Scheme with effect from 01 April 2022. The AWCCs aim to provide day-care creche facilities in a safe and secure environment for children aged 6 months to 6 years.
The AWCC service is meant for children of all mothers irrespective of mothers’ employment status. The services listed under AWCCs include:
• Nutritional support
• Health and cognitive development
• Growth monitoring
