What happened: 12th BRICS Communications Ministers Meeting scheduled in India

India will host the 12th BRICS Communications Ministers Meeting on 21 August 2026 under India’s BRICS Chairship. The meeting will bring together Communications Ministers and senior representatives from BRICS member countries to deliberate on strengthening cooperation in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), digital transformation, innovation, and resilient digital infrastructure.

Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Government of India, will chair the meeting. The meeting is organised under two named priorities: the BRICS Chairship theme—“Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability”—and an ICT Track theme—“Innovate, Cooperate and Transform (ICT) for a Resilient Future.”

Planned discussions include exchange of views and practical cooperation on:

As part of the programme, Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia will also hold a media briefing on key outcomes of the 12th BRICS Communications Ministers Meeting. The Minister will visit the Digital BRICS Forum Expo, which will showcase digital technologies, innovations, and solutions relevant to the BRICS ecosystem.
