What happened: CSIR-NIScPR’s Platinum Jubilee for ‘Vigyan Pragati’ (75 years)
CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR) organised a Platinum Jubilee Ceremony to mark 75 years of the Hindi science magazine ‘Vigyan Pragati’. CSIR-NIScPR stated that ‘Vigyan Pragati’ was launched in 1952. CSIR-NIScPR said the ceremony aimed to celebrate the magazine’s legacy and deliberate on emerging ways of communicating science in an era of digital technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and rapid scientific advancement.
CSIR-NIScPR also organised an inaugural workshop ahead of the main Platinum Jubilee Ceremony on 21 August 2026 at CSIR-NIScPR. The workshop involved more than 50 students from various schools in Delhi. Ms. Neha Tripathi, Science Writer, conducted hands-on activities with the students on science poetry writing and cartoons. Students also participated in a science quiz titled ‘Jigyasa’. Dr. B. K. Tyagi, Former Scientist-F and Science Communicator, interacted with the students on ‘The Exciting World of Science Stories’. CSIR-NIScPR distributed certificates to the participants.
