December 2018 conviction (Delhi High Court): The Delhi High Court overturned an earlier acquittal and sentenced Sajjan Kumar to life imprisonment for the killing of five Sikhs and the burning of a gurdwara in Raj Nagar, Delhi Cantonment.
Court remarks on investigation in the Raj Nagar case included reported criticism of Delhi Police investigation quality as an “abject failure” and reported findings that the Raj Nagar case involved large-scale efforts to suppress proceedings.
