What happened

The Election Commission of India extended the schedule for the ongoing special intensive revision of electoral rolls in Karnataka, Delhi, Telangana and Punjab by about 10 to 12 days. The revision is part of the third phase covering 16 States and Union Territories.

Revised schedule in the four jurisdictions

The Election Commission of India pushed back the timeline for house-to-house verification, draft roll publication and final roll publication in the affected places.

Karnataka: house-to-house verification until 8 August, draft rolls on 17 August, and final rolls on 18 September.

Delhi: house-to-house visits until 8 August, draft rolls on 17 August, and final voters’ list on 19 October.
