What happened (AIIMS Delhi syringe recall)?
The Union Health Ministry informed Parliament that AIIMS Delhi carried out a recall of certain batches of disposable syringes earlier in 2026. The Ministry said the recall was precautionary and followed quality-related complaints received from user departments within AIIMS Delhi. In the same parliamentary communication, the Ministry stated that no adverse effects on patients were reported due to the affected syringe batches.

The Rajya Sabha received a written reply to a question by MP Harris Beeran. The Minister of State for Health, Prataprao Jadhav, named the manufacturers of the affected batches and recorded the Ministry’s position on patient safety.
