What happened
The Delhi High Court gave three weeks for Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and other respondents to reply to a plea filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
The ED plea challenged a trial court order in a National Herald-linked money laundering case, where the trial court had refused to take cognisance of ED chargesheets (cognisance means the court formally agrees to proceed from chargesheet stage to trial stage).
The High Court also issued notices on the ED plea to additional respondents, including Suman Dubey, Sam Pitroda, Young Indian, Dotex Merchandise Private Limited, and Sunil Bhandari.

In the National Herald-linked money laundering case, the trial court refused to take cognisance of ED chargesheets. The ED’s counsel argued that the trial court order was fundamentally wrong and that the respondents did not file a reply despite earlier time being granted.
