What happened: BJP alleges obstruction and “chaos” in Lok Sabha

Bharatiya Janata Party officials accused Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, and the Congress of changing demands during Lok Sabha proceedings and preventing the House from functioning. BJP also alleged that the Opposition created “chaos” by spreading confusion.

Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda stated in a press briefing that Opposition disruption in the Lok Sabha had been continuing for about 15 days. Nadda challenged Rahul Gandhi to debate any issue in the Lok Sabha and said Rahul Gandhi would receive a suitable reply.

BJP’s stated sequence of Opposition demands

J.P. Nadda described a sequence of Opposition demands during the session. Nadda said Opposition demands initially focused on discussion on the NEET paper leak issue. After the government agreed to discuss the NEET paper leak issue, BJP alleged that the Opposition shifted to the Ram Mandir Trust. J.P. Nadda further said the Opposition later demanded a statement from the Home Minister on the “Jantar Mantar matter.”
