What happened: Tamil Nadu Assembly makes the state song compulsory before programmes
Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly adopted a unanimous resolution requiring the state song “Tamil Thai Vazhthu (Invocation to mother Tamil)” to be sung first before the start of programmes in public institutions.
