What happened
Congress general secretary K.C. Venugopal has described the proposed Delimitation Bill as a matter of national concern. He linked the issue to democratic representation, federal balance, and the political stakes of constitutional amendment power.
Venugopal said the Opposition’s strength will not be weakened by changed seating arrangements in Parliament. He also said the Bharatiya Janata Party is seeking a two-thirds majority to push constitutional amendments, especially on delimitation.
