Wind turbine firms seek export-linked incentives and support for indigenous components (flanges, bearings)

The Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) urged India’s Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy to introduce an export-linked incentive scheme for wind turbine manufacturing in India. IWTMA’s CEO argued that demand exists for wind equipment manufactured in India, but Indian manufacturers face cost disadvantages compared with countries such as China.
