What happened
The West Bengal Cabinet approved an increase of ₹2 per plate for eggs served at anganwadi centres. The eggs are part of breakfast and hot cooked meals provided to women and children. The decision has direct relevance for nutrition support and child welfare.
The Cabinet also approved extending Mukhya Mantri Swasthya Bima Yojana to residents not covered by Ayushman Bharat. In the same meeting, the state cleared a station for the National Investigation Agency, land transfer to the Border Security Force for border fencing and outposts in several districts, and land purchase for an iron bridge over the Panga river in Jalpaiguri.
The West Bengal Cabinet decision can be used to study nutrition policy, cooperative federalism, and internal-security administration in GS2 and GS3.
