What happened
The Supreme Court set aside the bail granted to Sonam Raghuvanshi, who is accused of murdering her newlywed husband Raja Raghuvanshi during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. The Court ordered her to surrender within three weeks.
A bench of Justice M.M. Sundresh and Justice P.B. Varale heard the Meghalaya government's appeal against the Meghalaya High Court order that had upheld a Shillong trial court's bail order.

The Meghalaya High Court had accepted the defence argument that the police had not effectively communicated the grounds of arrest. On that basis, the High Court had affirmed bail granted by the Shillong trial court.
