What happened
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) said it was concerned about alleged embezzlement of Ram Temple donations in Ayodhya. The issue was discussed on the concluding day of a three-day RSS pracharaks’ meeting, called the Akhil Bharatiya Prant Pracharak Baithak, in Belagavi.
RSS all-India convener Sunil Ambekar said the case was reviewed during regional conveners’ deliberations and that most speakers expressed confidence that the Uttar Pradesh Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) would produce clear results soon.
Background and earlier position
The investigation was taken up after a request from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The RSS said temple activities should be conducted in a way that does not disturb devotees’ faith.
