The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has deferred selection of its first chief executive officer by a month after receiving more than 5,200 applications. The trust’s decision matters because the post will shape day-to-day administration at one of India’s most prominent religious institutions in Ayodhya.
The trust has also arranged a temporary secretary to manage administrative work until the selection process is completed. In parallel, the trust reviewed devotee management during the Shravan month, administrative and financial matters, and safety procedures after a donation-theft probe.
What happened now
At its board meeting, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust postponed the CEO selection by one month. The trust said the large number of applications required more time for scrutiny.
The trust also reconstituted a nine-member panel of seers to supervise religious affairs. However, the trust did not fill three vacant trustee posts.
