What happened

Haryana’s house-to-house voter survey under the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls has been extended by 10 days to 24 July. The extension came after more than 1.5% of voters had still not submitted enumeration forms by the deadline.

The Chief Electoral Officer of Haryana said the Election Commission of India did not want eligible voters to be left out.

Background and earlier position

The Special Intensive Revision is a field-level exercise to update electoral rolls through household verification and form collection. The immediate earlier schedule had a submission deadline that was not fully met, leaving a pending share of enumeration forms in several districts.
