What happened at Jadavpur University
West Bengal Minister and BJP leader Dilip Ghosh threatened renewed “surgical strikes” if “anti-national” slogans were raised at Jadavpur University. The warning followed reported clashes on the Jadavpur University campus involving ABVP supporters and Left-backed student groups including SFI.
Reported reports described an allegation that ABVP supporters entered the Jadavpur University campus, followed by confrontations reported on Wednesday evening.
FIR registered and police process
Jadavpur police registered an FIR at the Jadavpur police station based on a complaint by the Vice-Chancellor of Jadavpur University. FIR registration indicates that police treated the complaint as requiring criminal investigation.
