What happened

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve to build a developed India by 2047 can be realised only through the development of individual States. He said Gujarat has played an important role in that vision.

Mr. Shah virtually inaugurated projects worth ₹870 crore in Mansa taluka in his Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and other local leaders attended the function.

The inaugurated projects included a bridge, a community health centre, and a building named after a trust set up to commemorate Gujarati writer Raghuveer Chaudhary.

Why it matters for UPSC

The event is a routine political inauguration, but it still connects to recurring UPSC themes: infrastructure-led development, public health access, and the role of States in achieving national development goals. The cultural naming of a public building also links development with local identity and public memory.
