Opposition MPs escalated their campaign against the Modi government by holding a protest at Makar Dwar, the main entrance of Parliament. The protest focused on two allegations: alleged donation theft connected to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, and alleged police excesses during student protests against the NEET paper leak. MPs demanded explanations for the use of force against protesting students and used symbolic items—a banner and a donation box—to frame their accusations publicly.

The protest at Makar Dwar involved opposition leaders including K.C. Venugopal and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra from the Congress party, Dharmendra Yadav from the Samajwadi Party, Sagarika Ghose from the Trinamool Congress, and Mahua Maji from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. MPs shouted slogans demanding explanations for the use of force against protesting students.
The protest included a large banner reading “who gave the order”. MPs also used a donation box and placed money inside it as a symbolic way to highlight their allegations about Ram Temple donations.
K.C. Venugopal questioned the absence of Home Minister Amit Shah in Parliament and described him as “MIA.” Venugopal alleged that the government ordered use of pellet guns against students. Venugopal also alleged that Rahul Gandhi was prevented from speaking in the Lok Sabha earlier in the week.
