Nomination filings began for byelections to three Assembly seats in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. The seats will go to the polls on July 30, and counting is scheduled for August 3.
The three vacancies arose for different reasons, which makes the byelections relevant to the law on legislative membership, disqualification, and representation. The seats are Bankipur in Bihar, Datia in Madhya Pradesh and Manjalpur in Gujarat.
