Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced a Monday protest plan in Karnataka involving Vidhana Soudha, the State Assembly. BJP’s stated demand is the resignation of Minister B. Nagendra.
BJP leader R. Ashok said BJP members would take out a protest march from Freedom Park and then demonstrate at Vidhana Soudha. BJP described the demonstration as a “lay siege.” BJP also said the protest would continue inside the House (inside the ongoing assembly proceedings).
BJP linked its resignation demand to Minister B. Nagendra being chargesheeted in a case alleging embezzlement of funds meant for Scheduled Tribe communities.
