What happened: Delhi High Court admitted appeals in Ankit Sharma murder case
The Delhi High Court sought a response from Delhi Police on appeals filed by two convicts, Nazim and Kasim, in the murder case of Intelligence Bureau staffer Ankit Sharma. Intelligence Bureau staffer Ankit Sharma was attacked by a mob during the 2020 north-east Delhi riots, and Ankit Sharma’s body was later found in a drain.
A bench of Justices Prathiba M. Singh and Vikas Mahajan admitted the appeals of Nazim and Kasim and issued notices to the prosecution. The High Court also issued notices on the request by Nazim and Kasim seeking suspension of their life sentences and scheduled the matter for hearing on December 2.
