What happened
ReFiber showcased a technology-enabled system for collecting post-consumer textile waste at Bharat Tex 2026. The company said collected garments are sent to partner non-governmental organisations for recycling, and the platform also supports a marketplace for upcycled products.
The company described the exhibit as its first appearance at the event and said it was using the platform to build contacts with businesses and potential partners.
Why the topic matters
Textile waste is part of the larger challenge of solid-waste management and circular economy in India. Reuse, recycling, and upcycling reduce pressure on landfills and can create value from discarded materials when collection and sorting systems are organised well.
