AHIDF to boost livestock and dairy processing and value-addition infrastructure

The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying said that the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF) is being used to expand processing capacity in the livestock economy. The stated focus is on dairy processing, meat processing, animal-feed plants, and other value-addition infrastructure, which links livestock production with better market access and higher returns for farmers.
What the Ministry said
Responding to a question in Parliament, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh said that the department is using awareness programmes, stakeholder meetings, training sessions, and outreach through State Governments, Common Service Centres, and industry associations to broaden participation in AHIDF.
UPSC can frame the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund around livestock-sector value addition, market access, farmer income, and the role of public financial support in attracting private investment into processing infrastructure.
