What happened
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs informed the Rajya Sabha that 23 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) have been sanctioned in Telangana and all of them are functional, including one school running in an alternative building. The ministry also said that staffing for EMRSs across India is being filled in phases, with recruitment already completed for one batch and an examination conducted for another batch of teaching and non-teaching posts.

The latest update shows that Telangana's EMRS network is operating, but staffing remains a continuing administrative task. The ministry said that State Governments have been advised to depute staff on deputation and contract basis so that academic activities are not disrupted while recruitment continues. The update also points to measured student outcomes, including performance in academics, extracurricular activities, sports, and entrance examinations.
