What happened
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has introduced Medha AI, a cloud-based digital platform for Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs). Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durgadas Uikey informed the Rajya Sabha that the platform is being run as a two-year programme across all functional EMRSs from 22 June 2026.
What Medha AI is designed to do
Medha AI is meant to support both teachers and students. The Ministry of Tribal Affairs says the platform can be accessed from any location with internet connectivity, which makes it relevant for geographically dispersed residential schools.
For teachers, the platform is intended to help prepare lesson plans, presentations, assessments, question banks, and other teaching material more efficiently. For students, the platform is intended to provide personalised learning support, practice exercises, doubt-solving tools, and language-learning activities.
