Medha AI platform expands digital academic support for Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs)

What happened
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has introduced Medha AI, a cloud-based digital platform for Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs). Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durgadas Uikey informed the Rajya Sabha that the platform is being run as a two-year programme across all functional EMRSs from 22 June 2026.
What Medha AI is designed to do
UPSC can ask Medha AI as a question on the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Eklavya Model Residential Schools, and the use of digital learning tools in tribal education. In Mains, the issue can be framed around whether technology can improve learning outcomes in remote schools without substituting teacher capacity, connectivity, and classroom support.
