Haj 2026 welfare measures for Indian pilgrims

The Government of India has announced welfare measures for Indian Haj pilgrims for Haj 2026 in the areas of accommodation, healthcare, insurance, transportation, and emergency assistance. The measures are intended to improve comfort and safety for pilgrims undertaking the annual journey to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

What the Ministry of Minority Affairs announced

According to the Ministry of Minority Affairs, the following facilities have been arranged for Indian Haj pilgrims:

The accommodation arrangement in Makkah has been upgraded to hotel-style facilities with improved amenities and services. In the Mina camps, traditional arrangements have been upgraded through the provision of sofa-cum-beds to improve comfort and space use.

Medical support will be available through clinics, medical centres, and dispensaries at key pilgrimage locations. The Government of India will also depute qualified doctors, paramedics, and other medical personnel to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to assist Indian Haj pilgrims during the pilgrimage period.
