What happened
The Ministry of Minority Affairs has said that India has expanded several arrangements for Haj 2026 in coordination with the Haj Committee of India and the concerned authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The stated focus is on safer travel, better accommodation, digital support, and stronger medical and logistical assistance for Indian pilgrims.
Key measures announced
The Ministry listed a set of pilgrim-support measures that cover accommodation, transport, digital access, and welfare safeguards.
Among the measures, the traditional accommodation at Mina has been upgraded with sofa-cum-beds to improve comfort and use of space. Indian pilgrims are also being facilitated to travel between Makkah and Madinah by High-Speed Rail.
The Ministry said that the Haj Suvidha App provides travel details, accommodation information, baggage tracking, emergency contacts, grievance redressal, health information, and other essential services. The Ministry also said that hotel-style accommodation has been arranged in Makkah.
