What happened: PMMSY administrative approvals and Central fund release approach for Tamil Nadu (2020-21 to 2025-26)

The Department of Fisheries (DoF), Government of India, accorded administrative approvals for implementing Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) projects in Tamil Nadu for the period 2020-21 to 2025-26. The approved projects have a total outlay of Rs.1,240.5778 crore, with financing split across Central share, State share, and beneficiary contribution.

The Government states that the Central share is released in phases “from time to time”, based on implementation progress, submission of Utilisation Certificates (UCs), and compliance with PMMSY scheme guidelines.

The Government also states that subsidy amounts are directly transferred to beneficiaries’ bank accounts through Electronic Clearing Service (ECS).
