The Union Home Ministry launched the FCRA 2.0 Portal and the e-OCI Card in New Delhi on 22 July 2026. The two initiatives are designed to make Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act compliance and Overseas Citizen of India services more digital, faster, and easier to verify.
What changed now
The new portal makes major FCRA processes fully digital. The new OCI system shifts card issuance and cardholder access to a digital format. The Ministry of Home Affairs says both initiatives reduce paperwork and improve monitoring and user convenience.
FCRA 2.0 Portal: key features
The FCRA 2.0 Portal is meant to simplify compliance under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act and strengthen monitoring and enforcement.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the portal covers applications, renewals, annual returns, and other services through end-to-end digital processing.
