The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship approved the Surat ITI Cluster, Gujarat, under the Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs (PM-SETU) scheme. The project is designed as an industry-led Hub-and-Spoke model and is one of the first major PM-SETU projects approved for implementation in Gujarat.

The approval is significant because it links Government Industrial Training Institutes to industry participation, curriculum modernisation, apprenticeships, and future workforce needs. It is also relevant for Gujarat’s manufacturing ecosystem and for India’s larger skill-development strategy.

What was approved
