The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has approved the operational guidelines for the PARIVARTAN scheme, which is meant to accelerate the replacement of older, highly polluting trucks and buses in the National Capital Region with cleaner Bharat Stage-VI compliant or electric vehicles.

The scheme was approved by the Union Cabinet on 3 June 2026. The total outlay is Rs. 9,585 crore, including Rs. 5,041 crore of budgetary support from the Central Government.
