The Maharashtra Legislature has agreed to adopt the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) for paperless digital functioning. The move is part of the Digital India Programme and is meant to make legislative business more transparent, efficient, and citizen-centric.
A meeting on 16 July 2026 at Vidhan Bhawan, Mumbai brought together the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, the Government of Maharashtra, and the Maharashtra Legislature Secretariat for implementation planning. The meeting discussed software features, workflow, technical infrastructure, institutional readiness, financial assistance, capacity building, timelines, and the roles of participating agencies.
