What happened: MSME Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) Portal launched

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises launched the MSME Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) Portal as a digital platform for resolving MSME commercial disputes. The portal is designed to be simple, transparent, and cost-effective, with a focus on delayed payment disputes. By reducing reliance on lengthy litigation, the portal aims to support quicker settlements and healthier cash flows for businesses.

How the portal works: pre-MSEFC negotiation and guided settlement support

The portal’s key feature is a pre-MSEFC negotiation mechanism. Before a dispute reaches the Micro and Small Enterprises Facilitation Council (MSEFC), buyers and suppliers are provided a structured digital pathway to communicate concerns, exchange relevant information, and attempt mutual resolution in a non-adversarial environment. The portal also offers a Digital Guided Pathway that analyses the dispute and provides an indication of likely outcome, helping both parties make more informed, realistic settlement decisions.
