The Election Commission of India brought together over 380 media professionals from States and Union Territories under the theme “Connecting stakeholders, strengthening democracy: Role of media in elections”. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar addressed the participants.
The programme covered transparency measures under the Constitution of India, the Representation of the People Act, 1950, the Representation of the People Act, 1951, Election Commission instructions, the ECINET platform, technology in elections, and legal provisions relating to media during elections.
