What happened
The Ministry of Home Affairs has operationalized the Land Port Management System (VINIMAY) at 10 Integrated Check Posts (ICPs). The digital platform is meant for management of operations at existing and future ICPs.
According to the ministry, VINIMAY has also been integrated with the Unified Logistics Platform (ULIP), ICEGATE, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) system, and the Goods and Services Tax (GST) system.
Why the update matters
Land ports are important nodes for trade, passenger movement, and border administration. A single digital platform that links logistics, customs, transport, and tax systems can improve coordination across agencies and support faster clearance at land borders.
