SVAMITVA scheme progress in Uttar Pradesh: drone survey completed in all notified villages; property cards distribution and extension till Sept 2026
Uttar Pradesh has completed drone survey coverage in all notified SVAMITVA villages, while property-card preparation and distribution continue under an extension of the scheme till September 2026.
- The SVAMITVA scheme uses drone-based surveys and CORS technology to create rural property maps and issue Record of Rights in inhabited village areas.
- Property Cards have been prepared and distributed across large parts of Uttar Pradesh, but the remaining administrative work continues in some villages.
What happened
The Union government said that Uttar Pradesh has completed drone survey in all notified villages covered under the SVAMITVA scheme. The same reply also said that property cards continue to be prepared and distributed for rural inhabited, or abadi, areas.
The Ministry of Panchayati Raj said that the scheme has been extended till September 2026. The extension keeps the programme active for survey completion, record preparation, and issue of property documents in rural settlements.
