What happened
The Union Government has reiterated in Lok Sabha that the PM-YASASVI (Prime Minister Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India) umbrella scheme supports educational opportunities for students from Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC) and Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT). The reply presented the scheme as a tool to reduce financial barriers and improve access to school and higher education.

UPSC may ask about the beneficiary groups, the four components of PM-YASASVI, and how scholarship design reduces financial barriers to education for socially and educationally disadvantaged communities.
