What happened: Ministry of Minority Affairs reports PMJVK design, expenditure trend, and independent evaluation

The Ministry of Minority Affairs reported details of Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK), including scheme sectors, a five-year record of budget estimates (BE), revised estimates (RE) and actual expenditure, and the ministry’s evaluation and quality assurance mechanism. The ministry also stated that it commissioned independent third-party studies and made Third Party Quality Assurance (TPQA) mandatory for PMJVK projects across States and Union Territories.

What PMJVK does (scheme design) — community infrastructure in Minority Concentration Areas

PMJVK is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) of the Ministry of Minority Affairs for creation of community infrastructure in Minority Concentration Areas. PMJVK is demand-driven, meaning the scheme releases funds based on eligible project proposals received from States and Union Territories that meet prescribed guidelines and conditions.
