What happened: NCVET consultation with Skill Universities on collaboration and quality assurance
The National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), convened a meeting with Skill Universities at Kaushal Bhawan, New Delhi. The consultation was chaired by Smt. Debashree Mukherjee, Secretary, MSDE and Chairperson, NCVET.
NCVET’s meeting was attended by Shri N. K. Sudhanshu, Additional Secretary, MSDE and Executive Member, NCVET. The consultation also included NCVET officials Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar Gaba, Ms. Archana Mayaram, Lt. Col. Vikram Singh Bhati, and Lt. Col. Saurabh S. Bisht.
UPSC can frame the event as an education-governance exercise: how the national regulator NCVET aligns Skill Universities on quality assurance (NSQF-aligned qualifications and recognition mechanisms) and learner mobility (credit mobility and apprenticeship integration) to improve employability.
