Background and earlier position: what UDISE+ is and how it supports NEP 2020 monitoring
UDISE+ is a digital education data platform developed by the Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSE&L) to collect and manage comprehensive school education data across India. UDISE+ was launched in 2018–19 and is used for evidence-based planning, policymaking and monitoring of progress in school education.
UDISE+ is also used for tracking implementation of NEP 2020 (National Education Policy 2020), which aims for universal access, equity, quality learning and improved student retention across the school education continuum.
