What happened: BIND scheme approval for Prasar Bharati infrastructure (2021–26), extended to 31.3.2027

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting approved a Central Sector Scheme titled Broadcasting Infrastructure and Network Development (BIND) scheme for Prasar Bharati. The BIND scheme is intended for the development, modernization, and upgradation of Prasar Bharati’s broadcasting infrastructure across India. The approved scheme period is 2021–26, and the Ministry stated the scheme has been extended till 31.3.2027.

Background and earlier position: Prasar Bharati editorial review and feedback routing

Along with the scheme approval, the Ministry described Prasar Bharati’s internal approach to editorial governance. The Ministry stated that Prasar Bharati’s Editor-in-Chief and senior editorial teams regularly review editorial matters. The Ministry further stated that Prasar Bharati issues guidance and corrective measures aimed at improving the quality, accuracy, balance, and presentation of news.

The Ministry stated that Prasar Bharati’s editorial review process is carried out to ensure compliance with Prasar Bharati’s editorial policies and the Programme Code. The Ministry also stated that viewer complaints or feedback, including complaints related to editorial content, are forwarded to the relevant editorial team for appropriate action as per established policy.
