What happened: MoWCD launches Poshan Tracker for near real-time nutrition monitoring

The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD) launched ‘Poshan Tracker’, a digital application and ICT-based tool to monitor and review nutrition outcomes for children under 5 years, along with other Anganwadi service delivery indicators. The application is meant to support Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 (Mission Poshan 2.0).

MoWCD stated that the Mission’s year-wise beneficiary coverage is available on the public dashboard of Poshan Tracker at https://www.poshantracker.in/statistics. MoWCD also said that the system supports near real-time data collection and administrative feedback for timely interventions.

Poshan Tracker: what the application collects and how it supports implementation

Poshan Tracker supports data capture for Anganwadi services and programme monitoring activities such as: opening of Anganwadi Centres; daily attendance of children; Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) activities; growth monitoring of children; distribution of hot cooked meal (HCM) and take-home ration (THR); generation of required programme data; feedback to implementing authorities; documentation of programme impact; and continuous evaluation for timely interventions.

The MoWCD announcement highlights that Poshan Tracker aims to improve monitoring quality by enabling structured data entry at Anganwadi level and supervisory review at administrative levels.
