What happened: MoSPI revised the National Accounts base year to 2022–23 and published revised sectoral results

MoSPI (Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation) revised the base year of India’s National Accounts Statistics from 2011–12 to 2022–23. MoSPI stated that the revised series was released in February 2026, and MoSPI presented Manufacturing-sector indicators using the revised 2022–23 base series.

MoSPI provided Manufacturing-sector outcomes using current prices and constant prices, and MoSPI used the estimate labels FRE (First Revised Estimates) and PE (Provisional Estimates).

MoSPI reported the following indicators for Manufacturing’s contribution to total Gross Value Added (GVA):

- Share of Manufacturing in total GVA (in %): 2022–23 = 14.7, 2023–24 = 14.7, 2024–25 (FRE) = 14.5, 2025–26 (PE) = 14.8.
