What happened (MoSPI CPI/CFPI release for July 2026)
MoSPI released the Consumer Price Index (CPI, base 2024=100) and Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI) inflation for July 2026 (provisional), comparing it with July 2025 on a year-on-year basis. The release provides separate inflation rates for rural, urban, and combined (All India) and also highlights food and housing inflation alongside selected items with lowest and highest inflation.
Headline inflation numbers (All India, base 2024=100)
MoSPI reported the following year-on-year inflation rates for July 2026 (provisional):
CPI (General) inflation (combined): 4.45% (rural: 4.84%, urban: 3.96%).CFPI inflation (combined): 5.52% (rural: 5.79%, urban: 5.05%).MoSPI also reported June 2026 (final) as a reference point: CPI combined 4.38%, CFPI combined 5.32%.
