What happened: I4C reports savings, takedowns, and capacity building

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) stated in a written reply to a Rajya Sabha question that Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) uses the Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System (CFCFRMS) for immediate reporting of financial frauds and for stopping siphoning of funds. I4C also uses the Sahyog portal to expedite notice-sending to IT intermediaries so that access to unlawful information, data, or communication links can be removed or disabled. MHA further reported that I4C developed an online capacity building platform (CyTrain) and operationalised modules for restoration of defrauded money and grievance redressal related to bank freezing and lien marking.

CFCFRMS under I4C: reported savings from financial cyber fraud complaints

Under CFCFRMS, I4C operated a system intended for immediate reporting of financial frauds. MHA reported that, up to 30.06.2026, the system recorded financial amount savings of more than Rs. 11,158 crore across more than 32.80 lakh complaints.

Sahyog portal: intermediation for disabling access to illegal content and accounts

MHA reported that Sahyog has been launched to expedite sending notices to IT intermediaries by the Appropriate Government or its agency under clause (b) of sub-section (3) of section 79 of the Information Technology (IT) Act, 2000. This notice process aims to facilitate removal or disabling of access to information, data, or communication links used to commit an unlawful act. MHA stated that I4C blocked more than 2,77,053 illegal and fraudulent apps, content, websites, email accounts, URLs, and links across various platforms by informing concerned IT intermediaries and taking proactive action.
