What happened: ESIC expanded social security delivery and medical education capacity
The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) reported support for workers and their families through two connected tracks: (1) cash benefits and healthcare under the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Scheme, and (2) expansion of medical education institutions and seats to strengthen the health workforce. ESIC also reported a reservation approach for workers’ children through the ‘Ward of Insured Persons (IP) Quota’ in ESIC-operated medical institutions.
